When 10-year-old Maya Chen started posting basketball videos on TikTok from her driveway in Phoenix, Arizona, she expected maybe a few hundred views from family and friends. What she got instead was 80 million views, shoutouts from three current NBA players, and a personal invitation to perform at halftime of an NBA game.
Her latest compilation video — showing a series of increasingly impossible trick shots — has become the most-shared sports clip of the month.
The Shots That Broke The Internet
The video features 12 trick shots, each more unbelievable than the last. It starts relatively tame — a behind-the-back half-court shot. It ends with Maya blindfolded, spinning 360 degrees, and sinking a shot from the three-point line without ever removing the blindfold.
The video was captured by her father over the course of three weekends. Some shots required dozens of attempts. But when they went in? Pure magic.
NBA Players React
Multiple NBA players have commented directly on the video. “This kid has better range than half the league,” wrote one All-Star guard. Another simply posted: 👑
A scout for a major NBA organization (who declined to be named) told sports media: “We obviously can’t scout a 10-year-old. But we’re keeping her name in a file.”
Maya’s Response
When asked how she got so good, Maya’s answer was characteristically straightforward: “I just practice every day after school. Sometimes until it gets dark.” Her parents confirm she’s been at it since age 5.
